Do you believe in aliens,
UFOs
or lake
monsters
like the Loch
Ness or Memphre?
This webquest will send you and your partners
around the world. One of the places you will visit is beautiful Lake Memphremagog
in Magog, Quebec. Your mission is to investigate the existence of monsters
especially "Memphré" . Does Memphré really exist?
What evidence can you find? What could you tell others about it?

Jacques Boisvert, the local expert , would like you and your group members
to help him inform the population about the Memphré mystery
.He would like you to write/produce an advertisement using the medium of
your choice .(pamphlet, video, Web page, radio show, ...) He would
like your production to inform young children
Part 1: In teams of three, each member chooses one of the famous lake monsters and becomes its INTERNATIONAL EXPERT.
Memphre:
Lake Memphremagog Magog, Quebec, Canada
Nessie: Loch
Ness, Scotland
Champ: Lake
Champlain, Vermont, USA
Surf the Internet (see: resources),
visit your local or school libray to learn all about these famous lake
monsters. Each member of the team will become an International
Expert of their creature. Record this information on the lake
monsters information sheet prepared for you.
Part 2 INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS MEETING
Team up with two or three other International Experts of the creature you investigated and set up a meeting to share your data, pictures, or any other information you gathered in part 1. Together, develop a chart of important information, including a description that you will use to explain your monster to your original team mates.
Part 3
Back in your original team, compare and contrast all the data the three of you gathered in part1 and 2 about the three creatures. Record this information on a chart you create or use the Venn Diagram your teacher prepared for you.
Part 4
Write a letter or an e-mail to Mr. Jacques Boisvert asking him for any missing information you will need to complete the next part of the Webquest - creating your advertisement.
Part 5
Plan your publicity or advertisement
A) Brainstorm with the class different possibilities.
B) Along with your partners develop your plan and then present it to your teacher.
Your plan should include:
- What you will present. - a story, information, experience, ...
- How you will present it.
- the publicity medium you select.
-What is the content?
- presentation details ( Introduction, body
and conclusion)
-What each member will do. - the roles of each
member (Manager, reporter, designer, ...)

Believe in them or not ,I hope you enjoyed your detailed
study of these well known lake monsters and have come to appreciate
these fascinating creatures.
