Grade: 6, beginner + (reading and writing activity)

PRE-ACTIVITIES:

Twelve (12) different topics are offered, same principle as above, to create a wacky:

- tongue twister - odd animal - the play’ s the thing - what a buy! - 

- the audition - two cinquains - on the track of bigfoot - what are friends for

- the camping trip - up close and personal - the mummy

ACTIVITIES: Students create their own wacky tales by completing the grid provided on site.

Students must complete the grid according to the requirements. 

Ex. ( lions ) plural noun

(cat ) singular noun 

At the end of the selection a wacky tale appears with the words chosen by the student.

Ex.: And the moral of the story is...

Two lions don’t make a cat....

 

CLOSURE: After printing their story, students get in groups of 3 or 4 and read to one another their wacky story.

FEEDBACK/EVALUATION: The story can be evaluated either orally, if presented to the rest of the class and/ or for written expression.

FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY:

CLASS MANAGEMENT: Computer lab. Pairwork if there are 15 computers. Students, in pairs, can help one another create a story.
