Scenario 1

Step one: Select a subject and establish a schedule

Select a Subject

Choosing a subject is the first step in
writing a book report. At first, think
about various topics for your report.
Make a list of them. Then, narrow your choice
to one subject only. Cross-question yourself about
the subject set. Does it appeal to me? Is it interesting or can I develop an interest as I work on it? Do I know enough about this subject or can I learn enough about it in a reasonable time period? Is it too broad to be treated in the time at my command? Is it acceptable to the reader? What purpose would I have regarding this topic? Once you have your subject, set down, in a single sentence, the main idea of your book report. It is now time to choose a proper schedule. 1

Establish a Schedule

Establishing a schedule and respecting it are certainly the best ways to insure that my book report is finished on time. What's my deadline? What period of time do I have at my disposal between now and then? How many hours do I figure out I need to complete my report if I work on a daily basis? Usually preview more time than less.
