The Teachers' Scenario 2

Step two: Brainstorming

North West Territories Pavilion
North West Territories Pavilion, Yellowknife
  1. Tell your students that you plan a virtual visit to a city.
  2. Discuss with the students about where they would like to go to: what continent, what country and what cities they would like to explore. Decide on a common continent, city or region for the whole class or for a small group. Ask them why they would like to visit that city or what is it that they find attractive about this city. This virtual visit could be in relation with a school trip.
  3. Ask your students about the role of explorers. How are they different from ordinary people who travel? For example, explorers take notes, they write about their discoveries, they make maps, they make movies, they participate in talk shows about their exploration.
  4. Tell the students that they too can play the role of creative explorers.
